How to grow from a monstera deliciousa cutting?
To grow a Monstera deliciosa from a cutting, follow these steps:
Obtain a cutting: Cut a healthy stem from the mother plant, about 10-15 cm long, with a few leaves.
Prepare the cutting: Allow the cut end to callus over for a day or two, this will help it to root faster.
Plant the cutting: Fill a pot with well-draining potting mix, making a hole in the center. Insert the cutting into the hole, and gently press the soil around it to hold it in place.
Water the cutting: Water the cutting well to settle the soil and provide moisture to help it root.
Provide warmth and humidity: Place the pot in a warm, bright location but away from direct sun, and cover with a plastic bag to create a humid environment.
Monitor growth: Check on the cutting regularly, ensuring the soil stays moist but not waterlogged. Remove the plastic bag once the cutting starts to grow, and continue to care for it, watering and fertilising regularly.
Transplant: When the cutting has developed roots and new growth, it's ready to be transplanted into a larger pot.
