Quality Plants & Seedlings has paused all sales and shipments to Queensland until further notice.

We are saddened by this, but we fully support and will comply with all recommendations and requirements from the relevant authorities to protect Australia’s plant industries and prevent the spread of pests and diseases.

🌱 Current Situation

  • At this stage, it is not feasible — not even close — to continue sending plants to Queensland.

  • Even though compliance is technically possible, the extra time, labour, and procedures involved make shipments unfeasible for QPS at this time.

  • We are actively exploring alternative ways to resume sending compliant material as soon as possible.

  • Effective 8 December 2025, strict new restrictions apply on the interstate movement of TPP host plants and produce.

🐛 About TPP & ToBRFV

Tomato Potato Psyllid (TPP)

  • A small sap-sucking insect affecting tomatoes, potatoes, capsicums, chillies, and other Solanaceae and Convolvulaceae plants.

  • Can transmit Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum, causing zebra chip disease in potatoes. Victoria remains free of this bacterium.

Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV)

  • Highly contagious virus affecting tomatoes, capsicums, and chillies.

  • No risk to food safety or human health from eating affected produce.

📋 Compliance Requirements

  • Victorian businesses transporting TPP host or carrier plants or produce interstate from 8 December 2025 must meet entry requirements for each destination state.

  • Accreditation includes eLearning modules, assessments, and certification to self-certify host nursery stock and produce.

  • Due to the extra time and labour required, it is currently unfeasible for QPS to continue shipments to Queensland.
