Plant every couple of weeks to ensure a regular harvest over the growing period. Use only a light sprinkling of mulch as mulching too heavily will bring slugs. Red Oak Lettuce has a high nutritional content and the leaves are thinner and softer than other varieties of lettuce, so harvest before the plant gets too old so the leaves aren’t bitter or woody.
