Red Cabbage (Purple in our opinion) is a very popular vegetable that belongs to the family Brassicaceae and is closely related to broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower. Domestic varieties originate from wild cabbage that naturally grows in England and Mediterranean areas and it’s one of the oldest cultivated vegetables in Europe, having been part of the human diet for more than 1000 years. Cabbage has high nutritional value and can be used fresh or cooked.
