Depending on the seed and the environment, a general rule of thumb is you should see signs of germination within 3 to 5 days.
Plant every couple of weeks to ensure a regular harvest over the growing period. To harvest, gather the stems at the base and twist the root out of the soil. Young leaves can be used in salads and excess beetroot can be pickled and added to meals to enjoy when the season is over.
